Why is it that tomatoes only taste great abroad anymore or when you grow your own? On this weekend in Sicily I must praise them for being the best of the tastes. We’ve got the builders in the house this year as youse all know and that has spread into the garden too and I cannot grow my own love apples this summer, which is heartbreak because I do love to go out and pluck a few and feck them onto a bit of bread or whatever. Tomatoes are the man, as we say from time to time. And apparently VEH VEH good for you. Here, I have been eating the actual, fresh plum tomato a lot – usually at home we see it in a can and that’s that. It is a king amongst…fruit? as I think the tomato is classed?
