stew 9 November 2008
ARGH – lost the last blog cos the internet was playing silly buggers and the copy yoke didn’t do what it said it was doing… The gist is this – my culinary adventures with the microwave continue. Poached eggs for brekkers this morning. I used one of those plasticky things I got in the supermarket and there were a few eggsplosions (sorry) and because I was on full power (I have an 850 watt jobby) the eggs were a tad overcooked BUT tasty for all that. As the machine is living on the floor of the landing at the moment under my foxy tea and coffee station it’s hard to read the control knobs but when I was cooking the beef stew tonight I saw I could regulate temperature and I THINK I did…the veggies were a tad chewy but twas tasty (again) so all in all not a bad day’s effort from the P. Does anyone know if I could’ve done the eggs in a bowl with some water as I quite dislike using plastic especially when zapping it with intense heat…
the G, in the meantime, is less snuffly and delighted with the meats she is being treated to (tablets stuck within but say nothing)
Next week in the house – WINDOWS!!!!!
