post-it 24 October 2010
I’m thinking there’s nothing more forlorn than a post-it that’s ‘lost its sticky’. I recently resurrected a small pad of yellow post-its that have probably been hanging around with me since the 20th century, so they should have been used or retired by now. Still, hating to waste a bit of stationery, I decided to press them into use. BUT they no longer fulfill their original function. I tried to ‘stick’ one to this laptop to remind me of an insert I intended to make in the teen novel I’m writing at the moment and it failed to adhere to the surface it was intended for. My dears, it is merely a piece of paper now. It is no longer a post-it. Its true purpose in life is nullified. It is an ex post-it. Sad…
