My Dad could not do without the spud. Put a ring of rice in front of him and he would go into a decline and think that you had gone quite mad. I’m a big fan of the potato myself BUT it is one of the carbs I’m not allowing myself right now (cake, as we know, is a contentious issue in the house as it turns out I’m alright at baking basic, flourless mixes and there’s a lot of denial about how much sugar/honey is going into those). So hooray for the humble cauliflower which can be mushed up with a little butter and is a brilliant substitute if you are CRAVING mash.
I’ll stop with the food updates now as, to be honest, they make me peckish and my muffin top is no longer a joke… (and it is really a top spreading over the waistband of my jeans that is down to muffins, flourless or not!)
