city 12 September 2009

Okay OKAY it’s not like I have taken a lover but today I went to see some top teams play football but neither was my beloved Aston Villa…As I am working in Manchester I am a bit spoiled for choice and today I went to City v Arsenal. Such a treat. First half poor enough but then a goal-fest. The ref was fantastic and played some great advantages that kept play fluid – early on he stopped body checking and so on with cards (quire harsh but effective) and so the game was unhampered by an ego foisting itself on it. I see the games as a whole and don’t follow particular or individual players so I am a bit abstract for the game. Rich fills in the details. But we were agreed that both teams cancelled one another out during the first half, then Arsenal dominated the beginning of the 2nd half but a short period of glory for City led to a formidable lead and that proved to be ‘that’. City ain’t giant killers on today’s display though and the score flattered them a tad…Totally fab day out and I am hooked all over again on the live game.

in Dublin, the G appears to have won Battle of the Chair…
